Fire hose valves in Dubai UAE
Fire hose valves attach to stand pipe system and give the firefighters a connection to water inside the buildings. These valves in UAE ususaly get located at the main floor building in exit stair ways because it should be easy to access. Finally we can say that The Dubai and Sharjah Marine land in dubai has the best for you.
What is a fire hose valve?
A hose or hydrant valve is used to control the flow of water in a fire scene or an industrial setting. Different applications require different fire hose valves, including flood and dry boost valves.
Types of angled valves for fire hoses
A fire hose valve can be a standard angle hose valve or a pressure limiting angle hose valve. The difference is in the amount of pressure they apply. Conventional hose valves can deliver and withstand pressures up to 300 PSI. Pressure limiting valves have a stem and cap that have a specially designed mechanism to limit the amount of opening of the valve itself. These valves are suitable where the desired inlet pressure is between 70 and 175 PSI and are usually used on the lower floors of the building to provide adequate pressure. Upstairs valves must fight gravity and distance and therefore do not need to be restricted. Both types of hose valves have female inputs (NPT) but are provided with male or female outlets.
The size of the angled hose valve - 1 or inch or 2 ½ inch - indicates the type of pipe system it operates on. Basic systems I and III use 2 ½ inch angle hose valves (of course, Class III may use both), and Class II systems use 1 ½ inch angle hose valves.
Angular hose vents are found in enclosed stairwells, exterior stairwells, and corridors of larger buildings, including skyscrapers, hotels, and warehouses. Their proper location gives firefighters or residents critical connections to the water pipe stand system that is transported from the ground.
Installation of angled valves for fire hoses
Before proceeding, note that this equipment must be replaced by a qualified fire protection specialist. For example, charged pipes must be emptied before maintenance. A Standard angled hose valve with conical tube threads is provided to comply with ANSI B2.1 (Basic Standard for Steel Pipe Filaments). The installation of this hose valve can be done with available field tools such as wrenches. Before mounting, make sure that the joint or thread seal is applied to the male threads. Then, tighten the hose valve to tighten it and align it if necessary.
Hose angle valve’s function
Connect the female end of the fire hose coupling. Then gently open the angle hose valve to achieve the desired pressure. Caution: Do not bend the fire hose. May cause the connected female end of the fire hose to detach from the extra pressure.
Maintenance
Schedule a continuous inspection of hose valves for tight closures. If the valve is leaking or requires additional torque to tighten, replace the disc or disc holder if necessary.
